The Mission of True Harvest is to advocate for, support, develop, and implement programs that promote optimal nutrition and food security for children 0 - 5, their families and caregivers, and those who work in the field of education.
True Harvest is a non-profit organization that will serve the community in Athens County, Ohio. True Harvest has a particular interest in promoting optimal nutrition and food security in the low-income population. True Harvest's focus is on locally-grown, sustainable foods. The Board and staff of True Harvest believe it is vitally important to begin teaching children from birth the benefits of eating fresh, local, healthy foods, of knowing where food comes from, and of supporting local farmers and producers and local businesses that support local farmers and producers in order to preserve our food security.
